Soapstone Blocks

Soapstone is an excellent material for beginners to hand carve their first sculptures. This soft stone can be easily worked to create small indoor sculptures. Smooth chisel marks with a folk or steel rasp.

All soapstone is sold by the pound, with approximate weights ranging from to 2 lb to 25 lb per piece. The selection found in-store will vary in size, shape and colour, offering you a wealth of carving possibilities.

Please note: It is recommended that a dust mask or respirator should be worn when sculpting stone.
